On 'Twelfth Night' (For Shakespeare's 450th)

23rd April marks the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth - and we wanted to celebrate it. 'Twelfth Night' seems an apposite choice of subject for this post, because the answer to Viola's famous question at the beginning of the play - 'What country, friends, is this?' - is 'This is Illyria, lady', effectively locating the play in SE Europe.

 The Summer is already gone...I want to share with you one memory....
Hand made painted dress, inspired from the sea and the boats on the harbors. The dress was complete;y white - white fabric which was the perfect canvas for the painting! It was so nice to paint it! I like to see my paintings on the walls but much more exiting is to see the paintings on the people! :-)

My gorgeous nephew Maya!

My gorgeous nephew Maya - the daughter of my best friend Deni. These are the illustrations which I did for her before I manage to see her. I imagined the small lovely creature like small baby bee (because of her name - Maya. I connect it to the animation hero Maya, from the animation "Maya the Bee". Do you remember this animation for kids...?
